The San Francisco Dungeon

Experience the legendary history of the city in an exhilarating multi-sensory experience

The Dungeon combines engaging theatrical performances, special effects, stages, scenes and rides for a unique experience that’s a little bit creepy, very funny and always entertaining. It’s the best way to tour 200 years of authentic San Francisco history in just over an hour.

The Dungeon is located between the ever-popular Madame Tussauds and Rainforest Café in the heart of Fisherman’s Wharf. This hot attraction provides a creative, fully-themed experience that tells the authentic stories of Old San Francisco. You’ll be on the edge of your seat as you make your way through the massive venue modeled after the legendary Dungeons attractions popular across Europe.

Groups of guests move about the Dungeon from show to show with a professional actor as their guide. Prepare to meet some of the most infamous and sinister characters of Fog City’s intriguing past. You’ll find yourself everywhere from the Lost Mines of Sutter’s Creek at the start of the California Gold Rush to standing in the cold footprints of villainous criminals on the infamous Alcatraz island prison.

Live Shows and Performances:

In all, guests are treated to nine spine-tingling shows such as Gold Rush Greed, Miss Piggott’s Saloon, Shanghai Kelly’s Raft Ride, and The Ghosts of Alcatraz. The all-new attraction includes 200 years of history, one dark boat ride, and live actor performances in 360-degree sets designed to immerse tour-goers in the action.

Are you ready to take a deep dive into the underbelly of San Francisco history? Want to know what it was like to be trapped in a doomed gold mine packed with live dynamite?
